The Oscars

Well first of all let me say that I had to miss a small part of the Academy Awards viewing due to a floor meeting inconveniently scheduled to take place at 9pm. I went despite my effort at putting a note on my Resident Assistant's door stating that I would not be in attendance due to the Academy-deepest regrets.

The much anticipated Red Carpet was not to be missed with stunners including Gwyneth Paltrow in her Tom Ford ensemble- only she could pull off a cape! and Brad Pitt who managed to keep his beard tame looked dashing, complete with the best accessory of the night- Angelina Jolie with her best accessory of the year- her leg!

Some however, failed to bring it-
Penelope Cruz- who styled her hair? I'm guessing the same person who styles Kristen Wiig's small handed character on SNL?

Another travesty was Sandra Bullock's ensemble... it reminded me of the scene in her movie The Proposal when Betty White makes the Easter Egg hunt remark in the wedding dress. Sandy, you've got a great figure- flaunt it a little more.













Applause heard round the world no doubt when Meryl Streep won best actress for her role in The Iron Lady. If her premonition about it being the last time for her to grace the stage in that way comes true- it will surely be the end of an era of excellence. And after 17nominations, this third win was owed to her by the Academy gods and she accepted it in style complete with her Oscar gold and lady specs.

All in all, a night to remember for all A-listers in attendance, and a night  for the common folk to tap into the glitz and glamour of Hollywood- I know I did!
